Soldier Hollow-son Arctic Fire finished as a fantastic second in the 110,000 Euro Group 1 Irish Champion Hurdles at Leopardstown yesterday. Over two miles on a yielding track, the six-year-old was beat only by his stable mate, the 22-time Group 1 winner Hurricane Fly, who has written history with his fifth win in this race. Arctic Fire is trained by Willie P. Mullings for Wicklow Bloodstock Ltd. Paul Townend was in the saddle of the consistent Soldier Hollow son.
Arctic Fire was bred by Uwe Grüning out of the Sternkönig-mare Adelma, which makes him a relative to the German champion miler and successful sire Alkalde.
