In only his second start for his new owner, Godolphin Racing Stables, Kassiano was successful at Meydan racecourse, Dubai. Ridden by Ted Duncan, the four-year-old gelding by Soldier Hollow won the DUBAI Potlines Trophy Handicap over nine and a half furlongs holding off stablemate Con Artist by nearly a length.
Prior to moving into a Godolphin box stall, Kassiano was owned by Stall Lustige Fünf and under the care of trainer William Mongil in Mühlheim, Germany. In five career starts, the gelding had been successful four times with probably the most notable victory in the BBAG Auktionsrennen, Hannover, where he won over Santarius and Wellkanto. At the Arquana Arc Sales in Saint Cloud (FR), Kassiano changed owners at a selling price of 165.000 €.
Kassiano was bred by Gestüt Röttgen. His dam is Kastila by Sternkönig from the dam-line of the Röttgen stallion Kallisto. |
