| Soldier Hollow son Arctic Fire ran his heart out today finishing the 400,000 GBP Gr.1 Champion Hurdle in Cheltenham, U.K. with a noteworthy second place under jockey Danny Mullins. While he could not catch heavy favorite Faugheen down the stretch, he beat veteran champion hurdler Hurricane Fly easily to the wire completing a 1-2-3 result of trainer Willie Mullins in Britain’s most prestigeous hurdle race. Six-year-old Arctic Fire was bred by Uwe Grüning out of the Sternkönig-mare Adelma and is a close relative to the German champion miler and stallion Alkalde. |
