Once again, Soldier Hollow’s Marunas proved all his remarkable class recording a great win on the highest handicap level at the Baden-Baden spring meet today. Taken to victory by Schiergen stable jockey Andrasch Starke, the four-year-old grey colt generated his undeniable late speed to take the €22,500 Badener Roulette-Preis (2,000 m) by a bit more than a length over Dorado (M. Seidl/ M. Klug) and King Rubi (E. Hardouin/ E. Mäder).
Marunas was acquired by Eckhart Sauren at the 2011 BBAG Yearling Sale and was bred by Gestüt Hachetal out of the Acatenango daughter Macuna, a right sister to the Listed-winning and Group-placed Mosquera and Macara and half-sister to stakes-horse Madresal. |
