Once again, progeny by Soldier Hollow were much in demand at this year’s BBAG Yearling Sale in Baden-Baden. Of fourteen yearlings going through the ring, five sold for a price higher than €100,000, the top seller being a colt we offered out of Narooma. He was acquired by Horst Putwill. We also consigned a filly by Soldier Hollow out of a sister to Deva who went to IVA-Alles for €120,000. Bred by Gestüt Auenquelle, a colt named Cloud Atlas out of a daughter of German Oaks winner Centaine was sold for €180,000 to the The Hong Kong Jockey Club. The filly Clear For Take Off, a sister to Gestüt Haus Ittlingen’s top-mare Calyxa, went for €160,000 to John McCormack Bloodstock; she will be accompanied by the half-sister to Daytona Bay who will leave Ittlingen stables for €120,000.
Soldier Hollow offspring totaled nearly 1,2 Mio. euros in sales price averaging €84,250 per Lot. The day after the auction, the French press heralded Soldier Hollow as the new Monsun (check www.france-sire.com).
