Funky Mary surfs on sand 
Today, the Soldier Hollow-mare Funky Mary confirmed once more the versatility of her sire’s progeny. In a claiming race over 2,400 m in Lyon, the Waldemar Hickst-trained six-year-old rolled to a confident win by four lengths in only her second start on sand. Jockey Mickael Berto was aboard for owners Norbert Effgen and Alfred Hannig.
