After two second-place finishes, Soldier Hollow son Laeyos finally got his moment at Düsseldorf racetrack today. Victorious over 2000 m last year, the four-year-old gelding proved his versatility by taking a second-level allowance race over 1400 meters in an impressive fashion. When jockey Andrasch Starke asked Laeyos for a run down the stretch, the gelding drew away seemingly without much effort and, in the end, sealed an easy 2 ½ length-victory for the books. Laeyos is owned by the racing stable Stall Emina and is in training with Paul Martin Harley in Hannover. |
