Wiedingen-bred WAI KEY STAR did not find suitable conditions in his outing in yesterday's 44th running of the Grand Prix Jockey Club at Dielsdorf racecourse in Switzerland. The colt racing for owners Stall Salzburg met stellar European competition in the CHF100,000 Swiss classic over 2500 m but also solid ground, which is not to his liking. Hence the fourth-placed of the German Derby 2016 did not find his usual rhythm and could not develop his explosive speed in the final stretch. Still, the Sarah Steinberg-trained SOLDIER HOLLOW-son showed plenty of heart and secured a very good third place with Gerald Mosse aboard. |
