First signs that our champion sire SOLDIER HOLLOW could also become a high quality dam sire were present with NEPAL's win in the 2016 Italian Oaks already. This seems to not have gone unnoticed with buyers at the Breeding Stock Sale currently in progress at the Arqana in Deauville, as yesterday female progeny of our champion generated top results in the ring.
Gestuet Karlshof-bred JOPLIN (photo) was acquired by Lake Villa Farm and Narvick International for €300,000. The five-year-old mare had a fantastic 2019 season, which peaked for her with a stellar fourth-place finish at G1 level in Deauville. Gestuet Bruemmerhof's Listed winner CHERRY LADY went to Haras d'Ombreville for €270,000 where the five-year-old will likely start her breeding career soon. Ombreville also purchased CLEAR FOR TAKE OFF for €130,000, who had worn Bruemmerhof silks as well. The grey mare was bred by Gestuet Haus Ittlingen out of their top-mare Chantra. Kildaragh Bloodstock secured a bid on Gestuet Faerhof's QUIDURA for €120,000. The three-year-old is a granddaughter of the top-mare QUEBRADA.
Top sales results like these illustrate once more that the quality of SOLDIER HOLLOW progeny does not go unnoticed beyond the borders of this country. |
