Wiedingen-bred FLAMINGO GIRL gave an excellent performance today in the Listed-level Henkel-Stutenpreis (€12,500) and impressively recommended herself for this season's filly classics. The filly, who had already earned Black Type status as a two-year-old, seemed improved even over last year and impressed in the 1600m challenge with a strong finish. With Andrasch Starke aboard, FLAMINGO GIRL was the superior horse in Düsseldorf's final straight where she almost effortlessly jumped to the lead in the last furlong to secure a confident win by nearly two lengths.
A Wiedingen product through and through, FLAMINGO GIRL is by our two-time German Champion Sire SOLDIER HOLLOW out of our top mare FLAMINGO SKY, who is a half-sister of the highly successful FLAMINGO ROAD, who produced the Gr.2 winner and stallion FLAMINGO FANTASY.
FLAMINGO GIRL is owned by Stefan Hahne and in training with Henk Grewe, who attests the filly a lot of heart and has pointed her to the Gr.2 Diana-Trial at Berlin-Hoppegarten in two weeks. |
