We are mighty proud of Wiedingen-bred WAI KEY STAR, who finished today's G2 GP der Badischen Wirtschaft over 2200m with a fantastic third place. Racing in the colours of Stall Salzburg, the colt enjoyed a perfect trip under Sybille Vogt and, coming from the back of the pack, displayed great fighting spirit in the final straight where he beat the 2017 Derby winner Windstoß to fourth place, one length behind the first two horses.
The now seven-year-old maintains top shape under the care of Munic-based trainer Sarah Steinberg. With that, WAI KEY STAR, who is by our top mare WAKYTARA, is following in the footsteps of his sire, our two-time German Champion Sire SOLDIER HOLLOW, who was still stirring up the Grand Prix class at the same age.
