In preparation for the preliminary highlight of her career--a start in the G1 German Oaks in August--DEIA had her second outing in the Listed-level 2200m RaceBets.de-Derby-Trial at Düsseldorf today. There, the full sister of the Wiedingen cracks DSCHINGIS SECRET and DESTINO was the only filly in the field and cut a great figure against the boys. With Martin Seidl in the saddle DEIA ran a very strong race and displayed great speed in the final straight. Although she was still a bit green, the filly unmistakably showed her class and finished an impressive second ahead of the field behind Gestüt Auenquelle's Adrian, who is currently seen as the second favourite of this year's German Derby.
