| Three-year-old SASSOON wins on annual debut |
| Gestüt Höny-Hofs SASSOON shone with a lot of fighting spirit in his first victory on his annual debut today at Cologne racecourse. Looking beaten already, the Jean-Pierre Carvalho-trained three-year-old colt by SOLDIER HOLLOW mobilized additional strength under Robin Haedens to put his nose in front at the post. SASSOON, who is nominated for the German Derby, is a grandson of Gestüt Höny-Hof's German Oaks winner and Derby runner-up Salve Regina. |
