With today’s victory in the €52,000 BBAG Sales race in Munich, three-year-old Marunas brought a successful week for his sire Soldier Hollow to the close. Following a race in the back oft he pack, the colt even had to overcome a stop entering the stretch but, thanks to his compelling late speed, recorded a confident one-length win.
Marunas was bred by Gestüt Hachetal out of the Acatenango daughter Macuna, a right sister to the Listed winning and Group-placed Mosquera and Macara and half-sister to stakes-horse Madresal. Eckhart Sauren acquired the grey colt, who is in training with Cologne-based trainer Peter Schiergen, at the BBAG Sales 2011.
