| Holiday Greetings from the Heathland: Good cheer for the future |
| It has not yet snowed in the Lüneburg Heath and yet we are approaching Christmas with great strides. Peppered with many unusual challenges, the past twelve months seemingly went by in a flash, so it remains for us to offer a brief review and extend heartfelt wishes at this point. At Park Wiedingen Stud, we are grateful for the wonderful moments and successes we were able to experience this year, despite the unusual conditions. Our three-time champion Sire SOLDIER HOLLOW enjoyed great success again in 2021. Across Europe, our champion's progeny produced 34 Black Type performances in 94 starts at stakes level, a remarkable yield of 34%. Accordingly, the demand for his offspring continues to be high, as was particularly evident at the auction sales in France, where the Park Wiedingen horses DIBUJABA and DEIA recently changed ownership, the latter achieving a top price of €600,000. From France we also hear that the first crop of yearlings by her brother DSCHINGIS SECRET left a great impression, which can also be said of the full brother of the two, DESTINO, who covers at Gestuet Westerberg. Helmut von Finck has always had a particularly high opinion of the Derby runner-up, who is the only son of SOLDIER HOLLOW to cover in Germany. We are confident that DESTINO will follow in the footsteps of his great sire, and we anticipate the future in good spirits. We hope that you do the same!
