A two-year-old colt by our three-time champion sire SOLDIER HOLLOW achieved the third highest bid at the Tattersalls Breeze Up Sale in Newmarket, which ended yesterday. Lot 143, a bay colt bred by Gestuet Ittlingen out of a sister to German Derby and U.S. St. Leger winner Lucky Speed, made a great impression under the saddle and was knocked down to Stuart Boman from Blandford Bloodstock for gns 160,000 (approx. €162,000). According to Boman, the SOLDIER HOLLOW son will take up training with Joseph O'Brien and start his racing career in Ireland. |
