In midsummer temperatures WESTERN SOLDIER concluded a very nice weekend of horse racing for us in the capital city today. The four-year-old gelding by SOLDIER HOLLOW out of our WAMIKA, a full brother to WHISPERING ANGEL and WANGARI, had little trouble in the class 2 handicap over 1800 m and easily prevailed by two lengths under Bauyrzhan Murzabayev.
The Hoppegartener Fliegerpreis, a 1200m Listed race for fillies and mares, was also held today as part of the supporting program to the Große Preis von Berlin. Our three-year-old DISHINA (Soldier Hollow - Dhaba) did very well in the race, finishing in an excellent fourth place only three quarters of a length behind the winner.
