Nymeria wins BMW Preis Düsseldorf
She was beaten by only a neck in the 1000 Guineas end of May on group 2 level, but today Soldier Hollow-daughter Nymeria confirmed once more that she should be reckoned with for the Gr. 1 Preis der Diana in August. The Wiedingen-bred three-year-old cast all concerns about lacking stamina to the wind and recorded a confident victory in the 2,100 m BMW Preis Düsseldorf (€25,000) at listed-level. Regular jockey Alexander Pietsch guided the Soldier Hollow-filly to solid win by a neck over Auenlee (F. Minarik/J. Hirschberger) and the favorized Arles (J. Bojko/A. Wöhler). Today's performance should establish Nymeria among the serious candidates for the crown of the fillies in the 2015 Stuten-Derby (German Oaks) for owners Stall Grafenberg and trainer Waldemar Hickst.
The same connections have won this race in 2012 with yet another Soldier Hollow-filly named Sworn Sold.
