Nepal is the name of the winner of the Italian Oaks 2016, and she is no less than a granddaughter of our star sire Soldier Hollow! Through Milan’s the pouring rain, the Kallisto-filly galloped her opponents out of their shoes today. Ridden by Michael Cadeddu with a lot of trust, little tested Nepal did everything right and, at the end of the 2,200 meters, entered the books as a confident 3-lengths winner of the Italian group 2 classic. Prior to the race, trainer Andreas Bolte, who trains the three-year-old for owners Stall Seseke, said he was not entirely sure what the filly could do. Now, the whole world knows!
But not enough … not far behind, another one of our sire’s progeny passed the wire. Soldier Hollow-daughter Son Macia finished an incredible third, thus turning the Italian Oaks into an awesome celebration for us. With Daniele Porcu in the saddle, the winless filly delivered a great performance for owners Stall Elektrowelt24.de and trainer Andreas Löwe in this €407,000 classic.
