Following her third place in the Italian Oaks last month, Soldier Hollow’s Son Macia ran an amazing race once again in today’s group 3 Hamburger Stuten-Preis finishing an impressive second in the 2,200 m challenge. Despite the very challenging turf conditions, the three-year-old was found close to the pace from the start but was unlucky down the stretch when jockey Filip Minarik could not find a clear passage for her until a furlong to go. In the end, the duo finished a length behind the Wittekindshof-winner New England.
Son Macia is in training with Andreas Löwe for owners Stall elektrowelt24.de. The bay filly by our standout sire Soldier Hollow was bred out of the Zinaad-mare Sinaada by Stall Sternstunde.
The favored Soldier Hollow-daughter Kasalla finished fifth; our two-year-old champion of last year, Dhaba, finished seventh. Both fillies did not take a liking to the heavy turf. |
