| Today, our Devastar took top weight to the start over 2,050 m at Gr.3 level on the heavy turf of Krefeld racetrack, and the Areion-son of our fine mare Deva once again proved his stamina and fighting spirit. Martin Seidl had the four-year-old prominently placed in mid field for much of the race and set the final attack along the outside rails down the final stretch. Although pair could not threaten the first two, the Markus Klug-trained colt as always gave his all and finished a strong third in the €55,000 Niederrhein-Pokal. Devastar was a model of consistency for us during the entire 2016 campaign. In eight starts, the colt finished in the money ranks each time, won at Listed- and group level and finishes the season with a 94kg GAG (115.5). They call it success in breeding, which makes us very proud! |
