PARTHENIUS by Soldier Hollow seems to have found renewed joy in racing. The full brother to 2013 German Derby winner PASTORIUS had never found the way to fully express his entire potential following his successful two-year-old season where he took the G3 Herzog von Ratibor race, one of the most prestigeous challenges for the youngsters in the country. Apparently, the four-year-old gelding was sold to the U.K. over the course of the summer.
There, he instantly scored in his time out for new owners Pegasus Bloodstock Ltd. and trainer Dan Skelton - over hurdles! Today, Parthenius won a maiden race over 3200 m with Harry Skelton aboard, displaying not only impressive talent for jumping but also proving gutsy down the stretch as he held off an opponent by a nose. |
