DSCHINGIS SECRET nominated for Horse of the Year 2017

Every year, voting for the title HORSE OF THE YEAR not only marks an uplifting conclusion to the racing season bygone, it also crowns the best race horse with a much sought-after title that even appears in the pedigree. By March 15 the decision will be made on who will wear the 2017 crown, and we are delighted to report that Wiedingen-bred DSCHINGIS SECRET is one of the three nominated horses for the 2017 title race!

The son of your champion sire SOLDIER HOLLOW and our top-mare DIVYA (Platini) delivered a formidable four-year-old campaign following his third place finish in the 2016 German Derby and closing the year with a more than convincing victory in the G2 Italian St. Leger. He opened 2017 with a win in the G2 82th Gerling-Preis and subsequently improved from race to race only to triumph in the G1 Großer Preis von Berlin and later in the G2 Prix Foy. In the face of a less than perfect trip, his sixth-place-finish in the most anticipated race of Europe's horse racing season, the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe was an amazing result given that he had beaten the second-placed Cloth of Stars in domineering manner in the Prix Foy.

A character horse and race horse at heart through and through, DSCHINGIS SECRET convinces with stamina, speed and an incredible willingness to perform that melts the heart of every horse racing fan. The colt closed 2017 as the highest rated German horse and was given a GAG of 100 kg (123 RPR).
