| NANDALEO by our champion sire SOLDIER HOLLOW out of NAGAYA had his second career outing in today's Derby-Trial, a 2200 m Listed-challenge for ther derby crop prized with €25,000, and the colt impressed with a gutsy performance. Aboard the Markus Klug-trained Nandaleo was Wladimir Panov, who settled the colt in the rear of the field and served him with a ground-saving trip along the inner rails. When, around the final corner, everyone was drawing to the outer lanes, Panov remained calm and found Nandaleo an opening the colt jumped through and draw away with great speed and much heart, propelling him to secure the third place and leaving us pondering a possible late nomination for the German Derby in six weeks. |
