Always interested in the progeny of our champion sire SOLDIER HOLLOW, we admit there are some horses that capture our interest and hearts beyond the ordinary. SON MACIA is part of that group. Why? Because, beyond her stellar racing career, the five-year-old embodies all the excellent character traits which made her sire an exceptional race horse and which see him pass on to his offspring.
Throughout her active career, SON MACIA was a model of consistency, her outings marked by her honesty, willingness to perform and enormous heart. She always gave it all. A race horse throughout, very healthy and successful from the first to the last time out. Recently trained by Andreas Suborics, who took over the racing stable of Andreas Löwe, SON MACIA is one of the top female progeny of her sire by prize money and rating. The mare entered the gates 24 times in her career, finished 19 times in the money ranks, 11 times Black Type and retired with a rating of 108 which equals a GAG of 94 kg. Unforgotten her G3 win at Hanover and her formidable second place behind Derby winner Windstoß in the 55. Preis von Europa at G1 level.
Now, the mare has closed her active career and will take up breeding next year. According to owner Achim Weyrauch, SON MACIA remained in France after her second-place finish in the G3 Prix Fille de l'Air last weekend. No doubt will she manage her new career with the same kind of grace and heart as she managed her last. We can't wait to meet her babies! |
