Following a scintillating finish, Soldier Hollow’s Pagella had to succumb by a neck only to Görlsdorf-bred Meergörl in the €70,000 G2 Diana-Trial in Berlin-Hoppegarten today. With Alexander Pietsch aboard, Pagella traveled in the back of the field for most of the way, found room entering the stretch and took to a dauntless fight to the wire. The striking filly is in training with Jens Hirschberger for David and Hans-Peter Schön.
Behind the duel another Soldier Hollow-filly delivered a great performance. With Martin Seidl in the saddle, Roettgen-bred Kasalla had a rough trip down the home stretch and fought bravely for third place. Not far behind, yet another Soldier Hollow-filly passed the wire as fifth. The long shot Mary Sun was the pacesetter for the race and certainly recommended herself for better tasks with today’s performance.
With Serienholde, Pagella and Kasalla three fillies by our phenomenal sire Soldier Hollow can now be found among the favorites for this year’s German Oaks, Germany's most prestigeous race for three-year-old fillies. |
