Today's 165th edition of the Gr.1 German Oaks ended with a great result for our champion SOLDIER HOLLOW, as he is the dam sire of the two placed horses KASSADA and SEA THE LADY.
In the €500,000 classic, Roettgen stud's KASSADA was in the lead until one furlong out and was only narrowly beaten by the winner Muskoka. Two and a half lengths behind followed the French-based SEA THE LADY in third place with a very strong performance on the very heavy going at Düsseldorf racecourse.
KASSADA, who is already a Gr.3 winner, is the second product of Roettgen's SOLDIER HOLLOW daughter KASALLA, who was fourth in the Oaks and third in the 54th Gr.1 Preis von Europa. SEA THE LADY is a daughter of the Listed-placed BLUMENFEE. Interesting from a breeding perspective that both fillies are by Sea The Moon. |
